The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Whirlpool Corp. announced a voluntary recall of more than 40,000 refrigerators.
According to repair.maytag.com, 46,000 Maytag, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand refrigerators are being recalled because an electrical failure in the relay — the component that turns on the refrigerator's compressor — can overheat and poses a fire hazard.
The recall includes certain side-by-side and top freezer refrigerators. The affected refrigerators were manufactured in black, bisque, white and stainless steel. They have model and serial numbers printed on a label located on the top middle or left upper side of the refrigerator liner and have the following model and serial number combinations:
•Side-by-side refrigerators: Serial numbers ending with CN, CP, YY, YZ and model numbers begininning with MZ
• Top freezer refrigerators: Serial numbers ending with CA, CC, CE, CG, ZB, ZD, ZF, ZH and model numbers begininng with CT15G4, CTB152, CTL151, CTM152, CTN151, MTB195, MTB215, MTB245, MTF195, MTF215, PTB155, PTB175, PTB195 and PTB215.

I have a very old (1950s maybe?) Magic Chef natural gas range that came with the house when we bought it a few years ago. The oven and stove-top both worked great for a while, but now are starting to go. I'm trying to find parts but are having a heck of a time because the unit is so old. The local appliance parts place (AP Wagner) directed me to an antiques parts place, but they said the unit is too new (i.e. post-1950) for them to be able to help.
Anyway - the service tag in the unit says it's a Magic Chef 2030-3W. I've searched all over the unit for more details but can't find any - nor can I find any details online about this particular model.
What I'm looking for are two new uniburners and a new oven burner. The uniburners are starting to rust-out, and the oven burner is rusty and now has a long-delay in lighting. Both are pilot-driven and the pilots stay on, but the lighting delays are getting worse and worse.
Anyone have any ideas?
